Featured Review - Sumalee Thai

Apr. 17, 2007

The high pased atmosphere engulfs you as you enter the Restuarant in the back of a typical Main-Street-Newtown pub, The Bank Hotel. This particular Saturday night the place was packed (with good reason).

After waiting about 15 mins to be seated we got a nice spot next to a beautiful little fern garden in a back corner under a side tarpoline area of the outdoor setting.

Although they were very busy, the service was great I left the table to get a drink and by the time I came back our food was on the table steaming hot and ready for us to dig in. The meal (Thai Green Curry with Thai eggplant) was ablsolutly spectacular, and had me craiving for another for at least a week afterwards.

"I'll be back to Sumalee Thai for sure"...

“I saw the food being taken to other tables and felt like I wanted every single meal on the menu I couldn't choose which one I wanted out of all the great meals I saw.”

"Relaxed environment and great food"...

Eating Out

The main reason I eat out is so I don't have to do the washing up. I love cooking, it relaxes me and I like to try new ways of cooking and new things to cook... but that doesn't mean I don't like eating out.

Eating out is a way different sort of relaxation, a relaxation with far fewer responsiblities. When your eating out you never have to worry about something burning or getting over cooked, or using the right amount of seasoning. You can relax and socialise until your meal is placed infront of you and the empty plate taken from the table.

That's why it's so important to support the good restuarants, so next time you go for a meal, the experience is an enjoyable one.

These are the most important things when eating out:

  1. Hygine (Make sure the venue gets cleaned regularly)
  2. Service (It's no good if you have to wait too long)
  3. Food (Make sure it's fresh! and of course delishes)
  4. Price (Look at what's being served, check the price)
